University of Virginia, Department of Psychology
About this course: I taught three discussion sections (20 students each) as an weekly independent supplement to a large lecture course in child development (250 students).
About this document: Although students at the university fill out official course evaluations at the end of the semester, I also wanted feedback on some specific techniques I had tried. For example, I had required students to write discussion questions and comments about the readings before each class. I was encouraged to see that students found this helpful at many levels (and even those who found it annoying also said it was helpful!). Students responded to this question and another on anonymous, multiple choice questionnaires.
